They are listed in the directory as "name"@home.com. Many customers have been successfully switched to ATT Broadband's new network. Those customers will have the same e-mail with "name"@attbi.com instead of "name"@home.com. There are a few other Internet Service Providers (e.g., Comcast and Cox) that will be probably be transferring service from the bankrupt @Home service by the end of February 2002. ARLINGTONCARDS.COM/1976 Photos being added to the Photo Album for Class of 1976. The Photo Album was moved to Geocities, the free hosting service from Yahoo! The Photo Album is still available from the original links on Arlingtoncards.com. If a viewer bookmarked a specific page of the Photo Album, then those bookmarks will need to be recreated. The new file locations serve to show AHS classes how they can create and post their own reunion pictures and news with a site under their own control. Geocities offers 15 MB of hosting space. The hosting space available should be able to serve a good number of pages, photos and news for any class or reunion. AHS classes are given a free page on Arlingtoncards.com that lists reunion information only. Classes need their own hosting space to serve photo albums, news and additional web pages. One web page can be chosen as a focal or main page, which can be linked (FREE) from Arlingtoncards.com. Arlingtoncares.com is hosted by Arlingtoncards.com Arlingtoncards.com is not even one year old, but the web site has had many visitors. The number of visits -- often over 300 per day and once over 9000 hits in a day -- is proof that the interest in Arlingtoncards.com is strong. We have received many compliments and thanks for our efforts in developing Arlingtoncards.com. But we realize we have a lot of hard work to do to keep up the interest in Arlingtoncards.com and to develop a community that will use Arlingtoncards.com as a resource. There are two main audiences to Arlingtoncards.com: (1) People who graduated from Arlington High School and (2) people who live, work or shop in Arlington Heights, Illinois. The concept of local community portals gained momentum in 2004. Arlingtoncards.com and associated domain names are set to be a very strong presence as a local community portal for Arlington Heights. Arlington High School was once a great part of the Arlington Heights community. The community, in turn, had a great interest in Arlington High School. Each enhanced the other. Today, the remaining area high schools provide the school spirit and help young adults that are a very important part of any community. But Arlingtoncards.com captures the Arlington High School spirit that lives and represents any high school's spirit of learning, growth, competition and confidence. Over 1,000 colorful web pages make up Arlingtoncards.com. About 25% of the site is dedicated to archives and the history of Arlington High School as it once was a great part of the community. The remaining 75% is dedicated to information about today's Arlington Heights and news around the world. As Arlingtoncards.com evolves, we hope that graduates will enjoy the high school history and the continuum of life as it exists today in Arlington Heights. We also hope that people who live, work, play and shop in Arlington Heights appreciate the role that Arlington High School played in developing the community of Arlington Heights.
