Account

the e-mail system. An account
name or a user name and a
password is required.
Attachment is a file that
is sent with an e-mail like an
enclosure in an envelope.
Attachments are usually graphic
files, text files that are too
long for an e-mail or program
data files.

download the e-mail. IMAP is more
sophisticated than POP3. Major
advantage is recipients can read
only the headers in messages
without waiting for unwanted
attached files to download.

storage for incoming mail.
