'Mr. Hersey' Assistant Principal Dies Suddenly on
Monday
WED APR 23 2003 -- Robert J. Hannon,
53-year-old resident of Arlington Heights, died
suddenly apparently of sepsis following a band trip
to New York. 'R.J.' was in his 31st year at Hersey
High School, which included roles as teacher,
counselor, cheerleader director, homecoming and
graduation coordinator, and personal friend in time
of crisis for many. Hannon was helpful with
resources for Arlington High School reunion and
homecoming activities, recently received Arlington
Heights' 2003 Educator Heart of Gold Award, and is
honored and mourned by students, faculty, staff and
parents ...
